Texas Drifter: Security Issues SpaceX Launch Site?

Marshall’s Law Dateline – Perhaps some security issues' questions, concerning Space Exploration Technologies Corp. proposed commercial rocket launch site near Boca Chica are worthy of answers?

Questions that one “patriot security conservative” (PSC) would like answers to include following.

1. Who builds rocket launch sites “within striking” ranges of an international border next to a country drowning in domestic violence problems like Mexico?

2. What are shortest range distances in meters from access/exit road; from control center; and from launch pad to center of Rio Grande River?

3. What security measures need to be taken to harden SpaceX fixed physical assets including rockets on launch pad; and rockets seconds after being launched?

4. Are above measures necessary to protect lives, private properties, and America’s national security interests including orbiting assets?

5. Could potential threat scenarios based on existing cross border violence include following bad guys?
- Creates opportunity for one cartel to demand extortion money to let rocket be launched without sabotage by cartel sniper?
- Creates opportunity for one cartel to blame attack on rocket being launched on another cartel?
- Creates opportunity for one of many Islamic-fascist terrorist groups training and operating in Mexico “to see” vulnerable target?
- Creates opportunity for internationalist Islamic-fascist terrorist group with ties to one of cartels in Mexico “to see” potential high profile media target?
- Creates opportunity for generally corrupt anti-America Mexican government faction to “ignore” threats originating from Mexico side of border?
- Creates opportunity for Russian “black operation” to maintain their monopoly on providing human taxi services to and from space shuttle?
- Creates opportunity for China to distract America from China’s “on the move” imperialism in Pacific?
- Creates opportunity for other America hating groups to inflict damage on what they perceive to be “world’s great Satan”?

6. Is rocket launch site just another “economic development project” generating potential greed euphoria; blinding Rio Grande Valley community leaders to potential security threats that should be considered? Might be since some have suggested that RGV had no problems taking millions in Spring Break revenues no matter how many “partying non-local kids” were killed or injured; or were victims in reported and non-reported sexual assaults. Many South Texans still remember shrimp farms potential greed euphoria; as well as Kenaf plant farming potential greed euphoria.

7. Would SpaceX insurance premiums be “cheaper” by expanding security perimeter around launch pad operations? How can any American private business expect dependable effective security perimeter defenses south of Rio Grande?

8. Is simple solution to launch site security threats: moving site to private property north of South Padre Island; or private property west of Laguna Madre adjacent to Laguna Atascosa Refuge?

9. Would such moves eliminate “sniper” and or other “short range” threats facilitated by proximity to international border with Mexico?

10. Should security principles seeking to save lives, protect property, and preserve America’s national security, be traded for euphoric greed for a few regardless the cost in lives, property damages, and national security dangers ?

11. If reader can find address to submit their public comments to FAA; reader might consider answers to above questions?

Assignment question: Even though there are three undeniable facts: there are no perfect people, there are no perfect crimes, and there are no perfect security strategies; where is the good sense in making bad guys’ work easier; by be being blinded to threats while lusting for euphoric greed? (Reader can limit answer to seven words.)

Bonus question – Generally those offended by questions, already know the answers will be more offensive. TRUE or FALSE
