Texas Drifter: How Patriots Should Negotiate
Marshall’s Law Dateline – American patriots negotiate for sacred principles; not principals (excessive profits), not lust for power, not hatred, not promiscuity like evil among us in U.S. Patriots list of evil among us in U.S. has to include Obama’s Republicans like McConnell and Boehner.
Definition of negotiate is to confer with another so as to arrive at a settlement of some matter.
Evolution of sacred principles
1. The Ten Commandments
2. Act of Abjuration 1581
3. Declaration of Independence defines four inalienable rights: life, liberty, pursuit of free will, “and justice for all” Americans
4. Bill of Rights with which there never would have been U.S. Constitution
5. Oaths to uphold, protect, and defend …
Options during negotiating process
1. Make offer
2. Continue negotiating
3. Walk away and agree to resume negotiations
4. Warn if threatened
5. Self defense if necessary using Marshall’s social power formula: SP = Q1 + Q2 over Timing
Negotiation components
1. Offer
2. Counter offer/s
3. Total rejection or acceptance
4. Mutual performance of accepted agreement (called trust but verify by some)
5. Enforcement of agreement by other side also called contract or treaty
6. penalties for lack of enforcement of agreement by other side
Indisputable fact is that agreed to negotiations without being able to enforce terms of agreement is total waste of time. Another indisputable observation, patriots who depend on words alone, to enforce agreements with any other political side is complete waste of patriots’ time.
Other perhaps relatable examples for this writing exercise include agreements between: friends; husbands and wives; consumers and ethical capitalists; business contracts; social contracts between citizens (civil and criminal cases); private citizens’ constitutions and domestic governments; America and other nations.
One negotiating technique used by a rancher involved following process. Rancher took great pride in offering ethical market prices for sale of his livestock prized by other ranchers.
Process went similar to following: Buyer would say what is your first asking price for those three heifers? The seller might say thirty thousand dollars. The potential buyer might counter with twenty-five thousand dollars. The seller would respond thirty-five thousand; keep wasting my time and the price will keep going up. Potential buyer would say, alright thirty thousand dollars. Seller would say since you are not from around here I will still take thirty-five thousand. More often than not, the potential buyer would say, alright thirty-five thousand.
As word got around rancher continued to offer ethical or fair market prices, and did not have to waste time engaged is wasting his time negotiations.
Another example involves unethical capitalism. Buying a starving man’s one hundred dollar horse for ten dollars is unethical capitalism which some would consider stealing.
Most “conservative” advocates of capitalism are expressing their simple mindedness when they do not distinguish differences between:
1. Ethical capitalism
2. Unethical capitalism
3. Corrupt political capitalism known as crony capitalism
4. Corporate fascism
Key elements patriot negotiator needs before starting negotiating
1. Know your limitations
2. Know what you need
3. Know what you want
4. Know what you will accept
More key elements patriot negotiator needs to know before starting negotiating
1. Know your adversary’s limitations
2. Know what your adversary needs
3. Know what your adversary wants
4. Know what your adversary will accept
Reader might ask how is patriot negotiator going to know key elements about adversary? Simple answer is called good intelligence. TRUE or FALSE
Bonus question – Explain in eleven words or less how Act of Abjuration 1581 influenced signers of America’s Declaration of Independence, plus included in nine words, was the 1581 Act included in “spirit” as fourth inalienable right of “and justice for all”?
