Security for older Americans is perhaps the most complex of all security problems. Reader only gets one chance to do it right.
Remember, The Ten Commandments is not a "living document” with exemptions (neither is America’s Constitution - that's an issue for another time). "Honor thy father and mother” does not come with the exclusionary clause unless your parents are old and senile and their health interferes with your pop culture life style.
One tradition suggests that parents take care of their children’s first eighteen years, and children take care of their parents’ last eighteen years.
There are a greater percentage of people in contemporary America abusing, exploiting, and taking advantage of senior citizens than a comparable percentage of people committing similar atrocities against children.
The grown child’s primary problem is staying in a “pouncing range” while not interfering with their parents independence.
Parental independence ranges include
1) Totally independent
2) Independent but needs occasional assistance
3) Needs home care services
4) Requires nursing home care
5) Death of spouse and beyond for surviving parent
Children can partially evaluate their parents’ needs using the following
1) Mental health
2) Social contacts
3) Physical safety awareness
4) Financial resources
Senior citizens need to be protected from people who threaten their well being and finances. Some of these people are:
1) Greedy Family Members:
- steal retirement checks
- unrecorded loans to child
- trick parents into co-signing loans
- use parent's property as collateral for bail bonds
- use parents as law suit victims
- asset transfer deals (buy house / pay with rent payments)
- change wills with deception (sometimes using unethical attorney)
- declare parent incompetent to manage estate

One of most common least known family frauds involves following:
- child gets parent to sign name on blank sheet of paper;
- child then copies legal final page of legal contract “on top” of signature;
- child then finds notary public to notarize document claiming signature was made in their “presence”;
- perhaps millions and millions of dollars are being stolen with fraudulent wills, guardianships, estate executorships; not to mention “do not resuscitate documents” and other “legal” papers by children to abuse their parents and worse;
- weak point in this scheme is notary who for “very few dollars” may not know they could be accessories to murder and or first degree felony theft charges;
- once notary knows seriousness of their involvement they will “sing” and betray guilty child faster than Liberal Democrats race to betray America;

2) Independent Contractors / Service Businesses (includes consumer health care and negligence):
- home repairs (especially roof and car repairs)
- maid services
- homecare providers: physically/emotionally abuse; steal
- parking lot accident settlements
- contest "money to win" scams
- hearing aid scams (bill insurance companies)
- rental equip. (cheaper to buy / never maintain)
- insurance policies (too much; policies lost; low claim adjustments) ....letter from insurance company "loss of our insured"
- unnecessary surgeries (make money cutting; second opinion; make explain in English or even draw pictures)
- changing “DNR” to keep billing patient ( corrupt will call non involved relatives or even starving - have to go to court to reverse)
- hospitals over charging (hospital care last as long as insurance coverage – keep bills down)
- double billing prescription drugs
- ambulances holding bodies for ransom
- holding death certificates hostage

3) Sympathy / Fear Thieves:
- contact by mail; phone; more and more by e-mail
- churches; nonprofit organizations; and political parties (Republican Party one of worst / Democrats just as bad

4) Incompetent / Corrupt “Financial Advisers”
Good place to start is with attorney managing trusts and estates; not all more than enough to be aware of threat.

5) Public Sector Agencies
Brutal fact - all public agencies first goal: make your parents destitute / government subsidy addicts)
- out of control property taxes
- 30 phone call rule (might have to make at least thirty calls to public bureaucrats to receive any kind of service)
- public sector goal is enroll parent in programs that provide less and less services

6) Nursing Homes / Assisted living:
Quality of care depends on frequency of visits - child's responsibilities start not end when dumping parent/s off at nursing home.
- check out state complaints (examine conclusions any idiot, competitor or bureaucrat can file a complaint)
- defend nursing home from state Gestapo investigations (are often political especially in election year)
- check out Better Business Bureau
- visit with other nursing home clients
- what is staff demeanor?
- check out security (doors lock from inside or out)
- check out warehousing policies (from apartment to nursing home to padded ward based on vacancy needs)
- beware of fraudulent asset transfers
- make sure doctors assigning medications talk to each other
- get to know and be friendly with staff

7) Funeral Homes and Beyond:
- kidnapping bodies to “get” funeral homes’ services
- pre-funeral plans can save lots of money and ease grieving
- don't be in a rush "to get them in ground" (some cemetery managers most evil of all)
- thieves read obituaries to rob homes
- wills which include exclusion clauses for complainers
- leaving home “the same” helps surviving parent keep memories alive (may be all they have - don't be in too big a rush to have them "get on with their lives”)
- in most cases there will only be one child who cares enough to provide care; other kids care, but not enough to care

Being there in person through decline to end, makes accepting the loss easier; generally the children who didn't care enough to care for their parents are the ones who make the biggest scene at the funeral and turn out to scream the loudest for "their share".
Hold no animosity towards those who cared but not enough to help care - let Heaven decide if their behavior were reasons or sinful excuses.
Refresher bonus question:
Repetition is good training tool. What do Obama and his allies plus Bush clan types share in common? Both Marxist-fascist Progressive Liberal Democrats and RINOs share one common trait. Both think they are “entitled” to enslave or control America’s middle class.
Obama and his allies believe they are genetically superior to peasants or worker ants masquerading as America’s middle class citizens. Bush clan and other RINOs believe the “blue blood” running through their veins entitles them to “divine rights of kings”. Translation, their “upper crust” status allows them to care for America’s pathetic mostly poor white trash middle class citizens.
Judeo-Christians and other patriots need to start reminding Obama and his allies, plus Bush clan RINOs that there is only one true God and it is neither Obama’s crowd nor RINOs.
Question, if Heaven’s Son did not socialize with money lenders He cast out of Temple; why should America’s patriots socialize with those they need to cast from political power, in Heaven’s favorite constitutional republic? TRUE or FALSE
Reader’s assignment question: worst ethical capitalism is still infinitely better than Marxist-fascist or RINO greed based fascism. Should be obvious best economic system of Heaven’s favorite republic is Judeo-Christian ethical capitalism. TRUE or FALSE
