Texas Drifter: Equal Time For Second Amendment
Marshall’s Law Dateline – Elected officials including Republicans have done real well having public hearings on negatives of Second Amendment. How about citizens demanding equal time for benefits of Second Amendment?
Starting concept for this writing exercise begins with NEW AMERICAN February 23, 2012 report which cites Cato study:
(Begin excerpt) The authors of the study tell those legislators who insist on restricting the rights of citizens to own guns that if they “are truly interested in harm reduction, they should pause to consider how many crimes — murders, rapes, assaults, robberies — are thwarted each year by ordinary persons with guns.”
Of course, legislators with other objectives in mind will not be persuaded by this study or any other, as logic and historical experience do not make totalitarian ideologues alter their intentions.
As persuasive as the Cato study is in showing that armed citizens are responsible and capable and have ended many thousands, perhaps millions, of criminal attacks, it greatly understates the impact those citizens have in ending, without fanfare or publicity, a potential criminal act. The study will no doubt encourage those who already carry and perhaps persuade others to do the same. (End excerpt).
Reports of crimes prevented by private citizens with private guns will not be reported by “main stream” media. Why, major news networks by their actions support criminals having luxury of raping women and girls until law enforcement arrives on scene.
Such on scene arrivals can vary from ten to twenty minutes in urban areas and an hour or more in rural areas. Arrival time estimates presuppose serial rapists allows potential victims’ luxury of calling 911 before sexual assaults begins.
Since pro-sexual assault main stream media is not likely to report positives of Second Amendment; also Boehner and his allies known as untrustables are not likely to take any effective initiative to defend Second Amendment; perhaps private citizens should consider following assignment.

Closing thoughts these hearings are for those who do not wish to facilitate sexual assaults of their women or children; and are also citizens who do not want to be politically correct victims. This will be a shorter than usual writing exercise due to longer than usual reader assignment.
