Texas Drifter: Republican Leaders Carpetbaggers?
Marshall’s Law Dateline – Starting over begins with separating truth, no matter how unpleasant, from self deluding propaganda. All the courage one can muster cannot change past mistakes only try to not repeat past mistakes. Is contemporary Republican Party acting like party of Lincoln? If so many Southern conservatives may not be thrilled. Question, is Boehner being rude to Tea Party supporters because Boehner is Republican carpetbagger?
Definition of carpetbagger: selfish, snobbish, mean, cruel non-resident who meddles in politics for personal greed. Comparison example question Northern aristocrats who moved to Texas to establish policies like NAFTA with porous borders to facilitate illegal immigration using amnesty as bait?
Republican establishment aristocrats are known by different names: RINOs, counterfeit conservatives, Republican Tories and others. Reader can add to list. One name we might all agree on, their first name “Republican carpetbaggers” is probably still the best.
Origins of Republican carpetbaggers:
1. Lincoln’s emancipation of only slaves in South to create Black terrorists to terrorize Southern women, children, and old people;
2. Lincoln’s allowing Sherman to pillage and burn his way across South to break South’s “will to fight” which was Lincoln’s same tactic of emancipation for only Blacks in Southern states;
3. Republican Party’s use of selfish, snobbish, mean, cruel non-residents who meddled in reconstruction politics for personal greed. These Republican carpetbaggers used military forces to force States to re-write their constitutions, steal property and wealth, plus generally murder rob and assault Southern citizens following end of America’s First Civil War.
Irony forgotten is that slave owners were wealthy citizens, 1860 census estimates suggest that only about five percent of Southern citizens owned one or more slaves. Translation ninety five percent of Southerners did not own slaves which made Republican carpetbagger atrocities against Southerners more evil.
Reader might learn more about life in the South after America’s First Civil War. Consider following by Henry W. Grady’s address presented in 1886. Conditions which do not even describe or include cruel sadistic tyranny imposed on South by ruthless Republican carpetbaggers. One thing Republican carpetbaggers will never take credit for is that their abuses of Southern citizens made Republican carpetbaggers directly responsible for creation of KKK.
Unrelated facts, two of Texas Drifter’s ancestors served in Lincoln’s Army.
1. Charles served in 18th Regiment Indiana Volunteers Infantry at Pea Ridge; served eleven months and returned home and died of disease contracted while serving in Union Army.
2. Lucien served in Union’s 71ST regiment in battle of Richmond Kentucky; then returned home and died from disease brought on by camp life in1862.
3. Texas Drifter born in Texas and raised in South understands how civil wars leave shades of grey not simply black and white consequences for families.
Question, are contemporary RINOs and some conservative celebrities still treating Southern grassroots conservatives as did Lincoln’s Republicans? Answer is yes many Northern metropolitan conservatives still treat Southern conservatives and grass roots conservatives with same stepchild hick contempt.
President Andrew Jackson is considered a hero among many Southern conservatives; while many Northern metropolitan conservatives consider President Jackson an unwashed barbarian. Other Southern heroes blasphemed by contemporary Republican carpetbaggers include: Houston, Crockett, Travis, Robert E. Lee; reader can reference “holidays” reading assignment end of this writing exercise.
Reminder for Republican Tory carpetbaggers, it was not Southern grassroots conservatives that worshiped Dole, McCain, or Romney and chose them as Republican Presidential candidates. Also, it was not Southern or rural states that got Obama elected twice, it was Blue States and borderline Northern Red States that owes rest of America an apology for what their chosen messiah Obama will leave future American generations.
Southern and grassroots conservatives do not expect Yankee conservatives acting like carpetbaggers to abandon their snobbish attitudes and contempt for America’s grassroots conservative “country folk”. The political offer is that we work together to save America from Obama and Republican Tories like Boehner and the rest of future history’s losers.
After America is back on right track of returning to being a constitutional due process republic fueled by ethical capitalism; then we can return to squabbling over our differences. Let Yankee conservatives understand, us dumb country folk can win without you. Question, can you Yankee conservatives say same about not needing rural toughened Southern and grassroots folk?
Southern conservatives and grassroots conservatives all know that Obama’s tyranny will be no more desirable than was Lincoln’s Republican Party carpetbagger tyranny forced on Southerners following America’s First Civil War. Seems like a good reason for true American conservatives to set aside insignificant differences compared to consequences of not saving Heaven’s favorite constitutional due process ethical capitalist republic.
