Texas Drifter Tax Payers’ Sea Nymphs Noise?

Marshall’s Law Townhall Dateline – Question are tax payer financed public schools spending more per band students than per students basic educations? If so would this be sea nymphs or sirens artificial noise?

There are only three ways to balance budgets in real world including government budgets:
1. Increase revenues
2. Cut budgets
3. Eliminate wasteful spending and fraud losses.

As this writing exercise relates to balancing government budgets, increasing revenue is mostly done by increasing taxes; or cutting expenses by eliminating frivolous and or not entitled too services. Reducing unnecessary or fraud expenditures will not be included to shorten length of this writing exercise.

Generic question how many taxpayer dollars are being spent on extracurricular activities, per student is for this writing exercise narrowed to tax payer dollars being spent on sirens song music? Extracurricular sports programs are omitted to keep from “mudding waters”. Specific target of question is how many tax payer dollars are spent on band activities?

Observation: educational value of band is “worth less” than educational teachings involving reading, writing composition, English, math, sciences, civics, and American history. Why, band activities are not inclined to get average student better paying job to support their future families. Most employers do not include “what high school band were you in” on applications for employment.

Texas Drifter is not suggesting organized band activities do not improve students lives; question is are improvements worth tax payer dollars worth band expenditures and could those tax payer dollars be better utilized teaching student marketable skills in changing market place?

Primary question: total tax payer dollars spent on band organization per year minus revenue generated by band with net being divided by number of students in band not including band cheer leaders to determine per cost of individual band member.

Band budget should be broken down into fixed assets and yearly re-occurring expenditures.
Sample fixed assets:
- building
- building fixtures
- musical instruments
- uniforms
- transportation vehicles / trailers
- (other)

Sample reoccurring expenditures:
- band director salary / benefits
- band staff salaries / benefits
- building utilities
- practice field utilities
- supplies
- transportation costs
- (other)

Freedom of information Request (FOI) might also be useful to obtain numbers from some school district administrations who perceive they are smarter than “dumb, ignorant, uneducated property tax payers”.

“Texas Drifter Tax Payer’s Sea Nymphs Noise?” / First Outsider Critique:

The only fly in the ointment in your methodology is the "capital items"; building and building fixtures are generally paid for by bonds and are not a reoccurring item on the current expense reports. The bond sinking fund and repayment schedules should be noted in the auditors report.

Monies from the State or Federal governments may be hard to locate in the budgets they are generally accounted for as a separate item. Donated monies may be hard to track if not impossible, but sources of assets must be noted somewhere...

Your first step is the auditors' report and its review.

Follow up question, bond issues are approved by voters “capital items” - including band hall can be included though pro-rated for annual cost – on track or not?

Do not expect more than little or any support from school board, as many such organizations have little more respect for property tax payers than most elected officials have for voters.

Before whining starts about Texas Drifter being cruel to students’ dreams; what about dreams of families and retired people who are losing their homes to excessive property taxes to finance play time for public school students?

NOT BREAKING NEWS – Americans Staring To Choose Sides For Possible Civil War

Marshall’s Law Townhall Dateline – America’s next civil war could be between two totally different sides: Us and Them.

Them Side Includes:
1. Socialist-Fascists aristocrat rulers composed Democrats and Moderate Republicans;
2. Public sector middle class bureaucrats making twice salaries as private sector employees doing same work;
3. Public subsidy addicts - both poor welfare and corporate welfare recipients;
4. Ethnic and other hate groups loyal to Liberal Democrats.

Us Side Includes:
1. Conservative Judeo-Christians, Tea Party Movement, Reagan Democrats, Libertarians, Independents, Constitutional Patriots, and others supporting America’s traditions, values, principles, Constitutional due processes, and ethical capitalism.
Notes: Us Side not composed of different special interest groups, only one group what is best for America not Them Side’s spoiled selfish greedy special needs. Also there will be no Us Side private sector middle class as all that will be left in Obama’s new economy will be service industry minimum wage careers for private sector citizens.

Some will say what about private sector health care service jobs; remember who pays for those services; Obama’s government with funds stolen by taxes on private sector jobs and businesses. Brutal truth private sector health service industries become quasi public sector jobs.

Maybe now Americans understand why public schools like Rio Hondo Independent School District Rio Hondo, Texas spend so much time and money for extracurricular activities like band for students: because most community leaders know they have given their children “their fifteen minutes” of glory because most of their children’s only two future choices left in life are being government welfare recipients or slaving for minimum wage careers in service industry.

Back to “Not Breaking News”; Texas Drifter has said many previous times in many previous ways, to partially quote Obama’s goal of “hope and change”: Obama’s policies could easily spark another type of “hope and change” from rights guaranteed by Second Amendment. A possible reality after conservative pilgrims realize; that Obama and his Them Side are not likely to be talked into giving up their power merely because majority of Americans voted them out of office.

Texas Drifter will continue to warn America’s conservative pilgrims of gathering storm clouds, knowing full well that conservative pilgrims generally do not get involved until their body count rises to some unknown unacceptable number.

Should Them Side loyalists doubt accuracy of comparable dollars spent per some students extracurricular activities compared to education dollars spent per average students. Them Side can simply have independent source compare numbers using Rio Hondo Independent School District’s numbers including co-mingled dollars allegedly use for school district’s band program.

Texas Drifter is getting all writ out again. Just noticed that “Us” references in Us Side referenced in “Not Breaking News” was supposed to be written as “U.S.” Side. What a difference one capital letter and two periods make. Reader’s assignment change “Us Side” to “U.S. Side” in above Not Breaking News report. Texas Drifter is tired so reader gets easy assignment: make changes then re-read Not Breaking News for better author’s message.
