Marshall’s Law Townhall Dateline – Evaluating conservative talk show hosts misconceptions about American health care. First, talk show hosts tend to proclaim that America’s health care industry as good as it is run by gods. Not true, health care is a human industry run by fallible sometimes greedy people. Second, radio talk show hosts tend to bellow every chance they can that all American citizens receive health care. Not true as following will verify.
That written, America’s worst ever health care system is still better than best ever Marxist fascist nationalist health care offered by heathen barbarians masquerading as Progressive Obama Democrats.
Conservatives like to dismiss anecdotes as half truths; mathematically half truths eventually add up to whole truths showing factual patterns reflecting truth.
Texas Drifter has always enjoyed working “undercover” as it provides an opportunity to see life in America from ground level not as it looks while driving by in an SUV with windows rolled up. Following is based on conversation with another Texas drifter whose identity is not as important as his experiences with America’s health care industry. Event’s geography: one Rio Grande Valley, Texas county. The city involved has two hospitals, one for profit which only serves those with sufficient assets, which is fine as they are upfront about their motives.
Other hospital is "non-profit" which is supposed to support those financially embarrassed. VBMC admission policies are as follows:
1. health insurance
2. welfare like Medicare / Medicaid
3. emergencies including emergency basic care for illegal immigrants
4. cash
5. financing for those with jobs or assets worth seizing
Those with spare change jobs are denied services unless they can come up with down payments or deposits which they obviously can not afford. Consider real world anecdote of old Anglo Texas drifter. This man needed minor surgery that could become fatal without surgery in twelve months. His annual average earnings from spare change part time jobs averaged about thousand dollars year.
The old man preferred self sufficiency to public charity and becoming ward of state. A traditional value that America’s “world owes me” baby boomers who consider welfare a civil right will never understand so why waste time trying to explain any tradition to what Lenin called “useful idiots”.
Back to old Texas drifter’s story, VBMC financial worker essentially told him to come up with three thousand dollar deposit or go away. The man told me that if he could hang on till next year, which he probably could not; he would have down payment money from his Social Security which started then; money which he did not mind taking as he had paid into the program his entire life.
The same hospital has a reputation of calling taxis to take financially embarrassed “where ever” and leave them to get them out of hospital. Other rumors, factious or not abound that one trail lawyer could build an entire career from other negligent conduct of hospital staff. Have not seen old man lately perhaps he found a non-profit hospital that does not believe charity ends with helping people getting government welfare.
You know how Texas Drifter enjoys irony. If Jesus Disciples were still ministering on planet earth, and needed medical care; could they get the medical care they needed from Valley Baptist Medical Center? Not judging just asking the question.
This true anecdote is not about VBMC changing their policies that is their free will choice management decision. What Texas Drifter is wondering, where is line of common decency? Perhaps VBMC can stop trashing names of good Baptists by changing its name to Valley Obama Medical Center?
Talk show hosts who suggest that All Americans get good health care are being dishonest, as they should know better now. Closing questions are America’s best known radio talk show hosts being dishonest about another issue? Texas Drifter’s opinion is they are being dishonest about one thing; not putting their vanities before what is best for America.
Have not and are not America’s best known radio talk show hosts snubbed, and still snubbing other industry professionals like Dr. Savage? The mentioned name does not in any way form or fashion need endorsement of Texas Drifter, rather my raising this issue is about what is best for America’s future. Should not all true conservative patriots set aside personal differences until our beloved America has been resuscitated from its political coma?
Travis and Bowie of Alamo fame agreed to settle their personal differences in a duel of honor when they survived fighting side by side defending the Alamo. Conservative radio hosts need to stop acting like pilgrims and appreciate two thoughts: first, Americans may not get a “do over” to save their constitutional republic; and second the power in their unifying will be one if not the deciding factor in victory.
Otherwise it may have been good for America that some top rated radio talk show hosts did not serve under General Houston at Alamo; as Spanish would still be Texas primary language. Bad example, Spanish may again be Texas primary language; after Democrat Party amnesty for illegal meaning criminal immigrants.
