Texas Drifter: Vanity Is False God
Marshall’s Law Townhall Dateline – Questions with more questions, have some self proclaimed conservative celebrities forgotten that confident sacrifices recruit free will citizen allies while self serving vanities only attracts groupies? Translation: Vanity is a false God.
Moving on to and through more questions:
1. Why are grassroots conservatives asking if Texas Governor Perry was mean spirited by using carpetbaggers to ambush Texas Republican candidate for Governor Medina on national talk radio?
2. Is one of Beck’s staff members “big time” supporter of Texas Governor Perry?
3. Has same radio show host also trashed U.S. Senator and Republican candidate for Governor Hutchinson to subtly provide assistance to Texas Governor Perry?
4. How can radio host claim issue was abortion, when Medina is allegedly pro life while Hutchinson is allegedly pro choice?
5. Is saddest part of this issue, that statistically all Perry had to do to be re-elected was be top vote getter in primary, and then take just a few of third place finisher’s votes to earn right to represent Republican Party in General election. As far as general election, most Texans are not ready to elect Obama’s puppet Governor of Texas.
6. Does Perry’s use of carpetbaggers to trash Republican competitors in Republican primaries on national radio, show Perry to be a man more devoted to serving his own vanities than doing what is best for Republican Party?
7. Doubt legitimacy of above question, if Perry’s beyond sleazy win at any cost tactics angers conservative grass roots conservatives, Independents, and Reagan Democrats causing them to sit out 2010 elections; Perry might be remembered for getting Obama’s puppet elected Governor of Texas.
8. If "INDEPENDENT" truthful answers to above questions reflect poorly on Perry, should he withdraw from Governor’s race?
9. A question for some of Perry’s supporters who support him only because Perry claims t0 be pro-life. What if Perry only claims to be pro-life to get your vote, and ignores most of other nine Commandments. Do you still vote for Perry if there is better than lesser of two evils alternative?
Enough regional politics moving on to more lessons about gathering intelligence to win shadow wars, excerpts from SPY AS A VERB.
Class Introduction:
The professional surveillance manager or surveillance agent believes that a no backup attitude is the difference between winners who never quit, and survivors who quit when they break even.
A career in surveillance teaches the following: Intelligence is power; accurate information is intelligence and non-prejudicial investigations generate accurate information. Conclusion: covert intelligence can provide an edge that when combined with appropriate timely resources can determine outcome.
Surveillance managers have two basic operation management styles to choose from: observer or participant. Mutual components for both operation management styles include: security; resource management; databases; contacts; experts; investigation; surveillance; and undercover activities.
It takes ability, experience, integrity, and attitude to make participant management style work. SPYING AS A VERB: The Art and Ethics of Surveillance introduces basic principles necessary to develop the proper attitude for the participant management style.
Spying as a verb describes the world’s second oldest profession, undercover agents and spies are different creatures, one is an “outsider,” the other is a traitor.
Never forget, even the best teaching is no substitute for experience. Why anyone would pursue a career in the intelligence industry: enjoys “terrible beauty”, patriotism respects Cincinatus honor, or has nothing to prove. As for your instructor’s motives, work I learned how to do for honest money.
Part One: Theory
“Ignoring theory makes it harder to adapt technique to existing realty.”

It is doubtful that concept of extreme duty will ever achieve great popularity. Commitment to protect a client or team member may require stepping into a bullet. The first goal is to protect person or persons in their care.
Such a tactic might provide the edge that protects, and allows professionals to complete their assignment. What is the old rule: Everybody gets paid; everybody does their job; and everybody comes home. Be advised, there are no expendable bullet catching team members in intelligence operations; this is just one of the rules that separates the good guys from socialists.
Professional integrity is determined by the quality of their clients, and in some cases client’s personal motives. There are four types of hired guns:
1) Private sector with good clients;
2) Private sector with bad clients;
3) Public sector using legal means; and
4) Public sector using illegal means.
Regardless of the type of hired gun confronting the good private sector hired gun is best served with a nothing personal just doing my job attitude. After all, bad guys without a badge, and bad guys with a badge are both criminals.
Disciples of extreme duty do not work for people who are not worth the effort. How many average employees are willing to sacrifice their futures to protect their employer from serious or fatal injury?
Once an assignment is accepted, professional disciples of extreme duty are only concerned with their paid goal; not costs, odds, or public opinion. In shades of gray worlds, field managers and agents may be required to maintain control while working wounded without backup.
Regardless of special circumstances, intelligence management is not a career for self-destructive or those wanting to be remembered as heroes. Think about it; if one gets injured or killed while on assignment, how can they enjoy the financial rewards for their work?

Perhaps the most neglected public relations tactic when dealing with witnesses, clients, staff, and the public is professional courtesy. This is a subject that requires a training manual unto itself.
Professional courtesy is one of those traits that separates amateurs from
professionals; this important career trait represents a learned habit that comes from maturity. It does not matter how vile or contemptible the person in question is, they are entitled to professional courtesy.
For example, an incompetent judge who sells his own children to a satanic cult for human sacrifices is still entitled to professional courtesy. Surveillance managers and their agents do not have to like or respect everyone, but they do need to exhibit professional courtesy to everyone.
Personal respect and professional courtesy are different concepts.
Concerning professional respect, individuals who are disciples of extreme duty deserve respect.

The success of any operation depends on primary strategy A bad initial decision can create predestined failure. Apolitical professionals must avoid dogmatic strategic principles that do not change with the times. The primary strategy for any investigation or intelligence operation is having the right people; with the right equipment; doing the right things; at the right time.
Decision making in this business, sometimes means working in environments where results of mistakes cannot always be made whole.
Success is the only acceptable standard for service plans designed to follow clients’ instructions.
Some simple portraits of reality: desire without ability is misdirected energy; the difference between average and good is experience; and the wall between good and great is attitude.
Surveillance manager responsibility for employees includes: hiring, training, supervising, and motivating. This is not a complicated process, and in return the employee has the right to expect that the field manager will make sure their interests while on assignment are always protected.
Final decisions of case overall strategy should rest with the client. It is their money paying for the operation, so the independent contractors should learn to follow their decisions.
The participant manager’s responsibility is limited to determining specific strategy, and managing the investigation. One may not agree with the client’s decisions on how the case should be managed. However, since it is not the operative’s money that is paying for the operation, the operative should always provide total commitment to the clients’ decisions.
If one feels that the client is not capable of consistently making proper decisions; then one should not accept their money and find another client. The client-attorney is ultimately responsible for the outcome of the entire case, and may have reasons they do not wish to discuss with the surveillance manager as to why certain strategies should not be pursued.
Case strategy decisions of concern are those that relate directly to the investigation. Ethics is concerned with a clients’ strategy when that strategy threatens physical security or professional reputation.
Team members have a responsibility to express opinions on intelligence related strategies; still, never forget, the recruit’s ultimate responsibility is to “be a good soldier” and follow orders.
Surveillance managers are more leaders than administrators. The benefits of responsibility also come with potential risks and consequences. Managers’ responsibilities are concise and include the following: protect clients’ interests; maintain integrity of the investigation; and make sure that staff and innocent bystanders do not become unnecessary casualties during the investigation. These objectives come tuning the basics.

Physical health, emotional stability, and moral clarity influence the quality of work product. Commitment to responsibility achieves freedom, harmony, and natural prosperity.
Free citizens do not depend on others to make decisions that they must live with. No two cases will ever be the same; just like no two citizens ever follow the same road from infinity to eternity.
The 20th Century dream was to be free; the new goal is to stay free from debt; poverty; ignorance; intolerance; prejudice; poor health; moral or economic socialism; and socialist corporate feudalism.
Individuals, who abandon America’s traditional revolutionary values, face the risk of being co-opted by values not conducive to professional work ethics.
