Citizens who ignore apolitical national security spend too much time at cemeteries. SPY AS A VERB reinforces the value of human political intelligence.
Intelligence is neutral until acted upon. Surveillance, intelligence, and security professionals should never proffer public relations to clients by telling them what they want to hear; it is preferable for operatives take pleasure in telling clients accurate bad news.

Are terrorists moving too many people into America for 9/11 style attacks? Could not multiple simultaneous attacks using car bombs, mortars, suicide bombers, and small weapons add up to economic damages exceeding a 9-11 style attack?
Contemporary terrorists are using past American behavior in places like Vietnam to determine terrorist strategy: 1) attrition loses to increase American public support for getting America off Saudi soil; and 2) yet to occur on American soil Tet style turning point battle. America's military won their battle; an unpublicized victory that cost the American public's support for the war.
Failure to timely predict the fall of one Middle East aristocracy could put a Chinese built nuclear tipped missile system in the hands of terrorists; such an intelligence blunder could cost tens of thousands of U.S. military personnel in Middle East their lives.
When managing terrorists threats never forget Marshall's factor five formulas.
1) Divide the number of good guys by five to determine bodies on the ground strength.
2) Multiply the number of active terrorists by five to estimate number of terrorist collaborators.
3) To determine potential terrorist’s new recruit’s numbers, combine existing terrorist collaborators with civilian collateral casualties and divide by five.
The only way America can successfully manage future terrorist’s threats is for the people spending taxpayer dollars to be responsible for their actions and start thinking smart.
One unreported and not discussed finding of America's 9/11 Commission is that accountability for services involving surveillance, intelligence, and security only applies to the private sector and does not extend to the public sector.

Imagine following real word domestic scenario, how long would you survive?
One Domestic Scenario: Ninety plus percent of electricity in the United States is managed by the private sector. The product is distributed among five to six nation wide grids.
These companies trying to maximize profits are using under trained and under equipped private security guards. Industry experts have reported that appropriate physical or software sabotage could disrupt service for up to six months. The most likely terrorist tool, probably a virus capable of camouflaging itself spread by slave computers.
Imagine twenty percent of Americans living under the following conditions for six months:
1) No cash from ATM, debit cards, credit cards and checks
2) no gasoline - gas pumps won't work
3) no food - check out registers won't work
4) no public water for drinking or fires
5) no sewage disposal
6) no government retirement or welfare checks
7) no working air conditioners, heaters, or hot water heaters
8) no working refrigerators, freezers, stoves, or microwaves
9) no lights for homes, businesses, street intersections
10) no telephones including cell
11) no internet, e-mails, no working computers
12) no working televisions or video games
13) no emergency medical services or life support systems
14) no prescription drugs
15) no initial law enforcement
16) no print of broadcast news
It would serve no purpose for your instructor to continue adding to the above list. By the time martial law was ensconced, most affected urban areas would be filled with rabid souls; and most rural areas would have turned into shoot anything that moves zones.
Future historians will write that Homeland Security was a failure because it relied on master's degrees in business or planning to procure taxpayer grants not professionals with field experience in security.
A personal note for my friends in the private sector intelligence industry: in the "office pool" of from one day to six months. I will take "ten days" before the area impacted is way beyond muddled up.
As domestic war criminals, threatening imperialist nations, and Islamic fascist terrorists do not wait for those losing war to catch up; moving on to rest of America’s worst ever real world security report. Need examples, Obama’s continual cozying up to America’s enemies with hugs, bows, and endless apologies. America’s weakening economy and decreasing value of dollar provides enemies like Russia, China, Iran, and Islamic fascist terrorist’s incentives to attack America during economic weaker times.
Not much an improvement from America’s last national defense strategy advocated by Moderate Republicans and internationalist moneylenders. Partial list follows:
1. Weaken America’s defenses by exporting America’s domestic manufacturing base to third world countries and enemies.
2. America transferring dependence on America’s domestic natural resources to depending on foreign enemies for natural resources to fuel America’s national defense system.
3. Trading American jobs for consumer products made by essentially foreign “slave labor”, so America’s enemies can use profits to build armies and finance terrorist operations that threaten America. Two examples include China and Saudi Arabia.
4. Future historians will describe Moderate Republicans as naïve spoiled baby boomer brats who would have better served America by living on “daddy’s money” and staying out of politics. What a surprise, capitalism did not turn Marxist poliopaths into “kinder, gentler” Moderate Republicans.
Why should Moderate Republicans’ internationalist policies which have weakened America’s national security defenses while arming America’s international enemies and financing Islamic terrorists attacks not subject Moderate Republicans to domestic war crime trials? Answer to use counterfeit conservative moderate Republican expression; “compassion”, patriots need Moderate Republicans redemptions’ to clean up domestic and foreign security threats created by Moderate Republicans.
Translation: “compassion” distinguishes between being naïve spoiled never grown up adult with impulse gratifications to be liked by their rich friends; and being Marxist driven poliopaths whose only goal is to destroy America.
To a few starting points for reducing America’s foreign national security threats. First, America needs to quit running down rabbit trails to manage enemy nation’s puppets. Explanation, North Korea is China’s puppet, Al Qaeda is Saudi puppet, many terrorist groups are Iran’s puppets, and Russia has many of its own puppets.
Managing enemies’ puppets during cold war worked well then, only difference is Cold War is over and America needs a new defense strategy different than Moderate Republicans strategy: we will arm you if you promise to join our aristocracy and be our socialite snob companions.
America’s new national defense strategy should not reflect Moderate Republicans policies of helping America’s enemies destroy America. One new option, inform evil puppet masters keep your puppets in line or be held accountable for their damages to America, and America’s costs financial and other of solving problem you refused to solve.
Regardless of new national security defense strategy adopted by American patriots; one cornerstone should be based on intelligence services influenced by following excerpts from SPY AS A VERB: Art and Ethics of Surveillance.
